The God Factor

Today, at the #Summit Church Abuja #BeTheStandard event, I had the privilege of sharing space with some prominent Nigerians, including multi-award-winning movie actor and producer Richard Mofe Damijo, popularly known as RMD. I was also thrilled to be in the presence of other notable individuals such as Min. Kalu Ugochi, the winner of the #De9ja Spirit Talent Hunt Competition Season 2, and Dr. Tochukwu Macfoy, a multi-versatile Capacity Content Manager and Doctor, among others. The atmosphere was electrifying, and it was truly the right place to be.

Numerous outstanding activities and talks took place, particularly centered around the theme of #BeTheStandard. I shared the details of these talks in another post, but this one is reserved for highlighting the contributions of UgeeRoyaltee. As I sat in my corner, slightly exhausted, with pen and jotter in hand, I eagerly awaited the program's conclusion. To my surprise, the anchor introduced a different activity for the day: a session by Miss UgeeRoyaltee, where she shared her journey of becoming a standard. Prior to this event, I had only known her as a gospel musician who released one of my favorite songs, "Congratulations."

She gracefully walked up to the stage, and with a touch of humor, she admitted that it was her first time giving this particular talk about her experience in the competition. She appeared slightly shaky, but she cleverly remarked, "Let me pace around so I can compose myself." This lighthearted comment brought a smile to the audience's faces.

As UgeeRoyaltee began her narration, she emphasized how extensive planning played a vital role in her success. Together with her manager, she conducted in-depth research about the event, the organizers, the judges, and even her fellow competitors. Their objective was to understand what the judges were seeking, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of the other participants. This strategic approach immediately captured my attention. In a competition that encompassed various talents and secular performances, she aimed to stand out and become a standard, did complete gospel songs and emerged as the winner . Throughout her 20-minute speech, her words resonated deeply with me. I found myself writing, contemplating, and appreciating the profound wisdom she shared.

UgeeRoyaltee also spoke about the judges' reactions to her performance and the positive comments she received. Intrigued, I made a note to look up her performance during the competition. Upon watching it, I was absolutely captivated by her magnificent renditions of all her songs. One would have to be completely heartless or devoid of discernment not to feel the beauty and power of her performances.

However, what truly made my day during her session was her statement, "To change a system, you must do it from within, and whatever you do, must be to glorify Jesus." She emphasized that when you strive to glorify God in your endeavors, success is inevitable. This message, though not explicitly gospel, carried a clear and profound meaning. The God-Factor is the ultimate differentiator.

It's important to note that God is still in the business of doing good. To begin, one must align oneself with His purpose. Recognizing that we were made to be standards, we should embrace responsibility and pursue our purpose with passion.

Thank you for allowing me to share in your experience. Until we meet again, know that my name is Prince Samson Joshua Olarinde, and I hold you dear.
